Stroke Paralysis Treatment

Stroke paralysis is a condition where the blood flow to the brain is not consistent or poor due to blockage or a blood vessel in the brain bursts.

Treatment

The treatment here starts with Internal medicine from Herbal derivatives for first 8 days, then followed by Ayurveda massages and Varma point therapy continues for the next 8 days. Allied with the latter procedure, the patient could be assisted with slow or minimal movement of the limbs and legs and other parts of the sides of body which was affected. Finally, the next 8 days there would be Physiotherapy activity with the aid of automated machines which caters the patient resurrection.

Note: The treatment above specified is for the stroke affected cases within 20 days of attack, and thereby irrespective of the days after attack, the recovery is possible rather it takes few extra days depending upon the individual.

 

Prevention of stroke paralysis

Although there are ways to treat the paralysis, its important to keep our daily routines a check as below.

  • Reduce the intake of salt

Stroke Paralysis Symptoms

The symptoms of a stroke in the brain include:

F – Facial – drooping which might be noticeable on one entire side of the face or just in the eye or the mouth.

A – Arms – an individual may not be able to raise one arm as high as the other or one arm may drift downward.

S – Speech – may be slurry or strange as in use of odd words or sounds

T – Time – is of the essence in attack, as treatment needs to be started as soon as possible.

General recovery guidelines show:

  • 10 percent of stroke survivors recover almost completely
  • 25 percent recover with minor impairments
  • 40 percent experience moderate to severe impairments requiring special care
  • 10 percent require care in nursing home or other long-term care
  • 15 percent die shortly after the stroke

Types of Stroke

There are two types of major stroke:

  • Ischemic stroke

This type occurs when the blood clots or other particles block the blood vessels to the brain

  • Hemorrhagic stroke

This stroke happens when an artery in the brain leaks blood or ruptures (breaks open). The leaked blood puts a high pressure on brain cells, which damages them. (High blood pressure and aneurysms – balloon like bulges in an artery that can stretch and burst which could cause the condition of hemorrhagic stroke)

Transient ischemic attack(TIA)

A TIA is a warning sign for a future stroke and possibly must be treated as such the other strokes. More than a third of people who have a TIA and don’t pursue treatment is possible to get a major stroke within a span of 1 year. Adding nearly 10 to 15 percent of people will have major stroke within 3 months of time.
