Varmakalai

Life, (the bio energic flow) flows in the body in a particular pathway. Certain key points in the body where life energy is concentrated (Vaasi) is called Varma points. According to Siddha medicine there are 108 KEY points in human body through which Prana flows in a channelled way. Any trauma to these vital points may cause loss of consciousness or convulsions or even death. But gentle vibration or pressure applied in these points relieves the obstruction of the energy flow.

Varma therapy provides a complete natural healing to rejuvenate the toxic imbalances.

Pulse

The wrist Pulse is the primary node for examination of Siddha doctors to determine the body condition. A powerful antidote to the stresses of modern – day life, yoga is a practical philosophy that aims at uniting the body, mind and spirit for health and fulfilment. A fit and supple body can be developed through the practice of postures(asanas). These work on all the bodily systems, toning the muscles, stimulating the circulation and improving overall health. The benefits are not merely physical: as the postures are mastered and techniques for relaxation and breath control has the power to calm the mind, increase the concentration and give ability to cope with tension. It is a complete system for personal development, promoting total physical and spiritual well-being.
The word yoga comes from Sanskrit root “yuj” meaning to join or yoke, implying the integration of every aspect of a human being from the innermost to the external. As a philosophy, yoga insists that the practice of postures apparently physical exercise and breathing techniques is essential in order to lead a worthy and satisfying life.

Pranayamam

Pranayamam, an integral part of yoga defined as a science of cleansing, balancing and gaining control over the life force (prana). Pranayamam is considered as one of the best remedy to cure stress and anxiety disorder. It’s the science of breathing.

One can control the rhythms of pranic energy with pranayama and achieve healthy body and mind. The right way of practicing breathing in Siddhars science of longevity is known as practice of ‘Vaasi’. Vaasi in tamil meaning breathing.

Patanjali in his text of Yoga Sutra mentioned pranayama as means of attaining higher states of awareness and holding of breath is an important practice of reaching Samadhi. Pranayama, not only tones the lungs, regulates the heart rate, rejuvenates the glands and improves the health of the nervous system by increasing oxygenation but also regulates the bio energy flow of body and harmonizes the alleviated humours to restore good health.

Kayakalpam

It is a special branch of Siddha medicine which prevents age related degeneration and prolongs the healthy living. Kayakalpam means ‘transformation of the body’. But an analysis into the history and practice of Kayakalpam reveals much more than just the descriptions of exotic and complex herbal formulas designed to bring about physical and mental rejuvenation.

Purification

A key element of the Kayakalpa medical philosophy is Purification.

The Siddhas chose to purify their physical and subtle bodies, in order to facilitate the flow of health, consciousness, knowledge, and action.

Mind is the organ of consciousness, where people store their memories and desires. When these desires are unfulfilled it creates a melancholic state which produces a bio-toxicity known as Ama, destroying the immunity of the entire system and depleting the quality of its tissues. Kayakalpa is designed to rid the body of Ama, purifying it to allow the energy and vitality flow through you as a clear channel.

Nourishment

The second key element of Kayakalpa philosophy is Nourishment. Your treatments, diet and herbs are designed to nourish the purified body.

In Kayakalpa, taste is the key to nourishment. There are six tastes: sweet sour, salt, astringent, pungent, and bitter. Depending on your constitution, the appropriate taste profile is carefully chosen to nourish your body. With this guiding principle, Kayakalpa classifies all food types according to their taste, which determines their impact on the biological principles of Air, Fire and Water.

An important feature of Kayakalpa is molecular nutrition or applied alchemy— which consists of herbal-mineral compounds called Kalpas, preparations that bring about balance in physiology, enhance immunity and slow down the aging process.

Nourishing the subtle body is as important as nurturing our physical body. Subtle nutrition is the specific use of sound, color, aromas, gems, metals and breath customized for a particular constitution. It nourishes the mind and senses and awakens, invigorates and expands the flow of energy.
